New Year....

Another year has come and gone. Here it is almost the end of January.

The older I get the faster time seems to pass. The boys seem to be growing like weeds and I seem to be missing it. I feel like I am stuck in a time warp where I will one day wake up. I am working a full time job, a second work from home job, and going to school. Each day seems to come and it all passes by me. I am missing those small moments in life that I desperately want to have with my children, and need to have with my children. I must find a way to break free and make it happen. How can I make this happen? I must start by finding a work at home job that I can do without waiting for the phone to ring and missing those moments with my boys. :(

My goal this year it to find a 2^nd job I can do while being around my boys. I know I can do it, in time with the help of God.

Holiday Cards from Shutterfly! + Giveaway!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Honestly it is, everywhere you go there is something that reminds you of Christmas in the stores. Just this past Tuesday I ran into my local Wal-Mart, and what did I see? Christmas candy was out on the shelves. Let me remind you this is just one day after Halloween!

Then in Lowes Hardware, all the trees are up, the blow up Santa’s and snow men and even all the ointments. Each year the Christmas decorations and candy get put out in stores earlier and earlier. Come next year soon as the 4^th of July is over they will be putting out the stuff. Well, honestly I can say I do not partake in anything really early; I don’t put up my tree until the day after Thanksgiving. Time seems to pass so fast, starting with the week just before Thanksgiving. Then it’s just hassle and bustle from that point on.

I can say there is one thing that I do early when it comes to Christmas, I have to get my cards ordered and ready to go out the door at least a week after Thanksgiving. This year I am so excited to order them online and have them mailed directly to my door.

At our house we have been practicing with our little man to say trick or treat, something I could never get our older one to say. Little man is all excited about going out to get lots of candy and seeing the other costumes out and about in town. One of my favorite parts of Halloween is getting to sit back and watch the good old Charlie Brown cartoons. Oh my how I love this time of year starting with Halloween.

have come and gone. Heck, what am I saying? The days of fall have come and gone too! I sit here and think about how this year has flown by, and why does it have to go so quick. Then out of the blue I hear someone say …. “They say the temperature will drop about 25 degrees in the next couple of days and we could see the s-word this weekend.” Not the s-word! What word you might ask? SNOW!!

I guess it is that time of year again and there is no changing it. I guess I will hold tight to my warm pictures of summer while I wait to say goodbye to old man winter.

For many of you V fans, I am sure it ended way to soon. It's okay V fans because its your lucky day! The Complete Second Season of V is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray. V is the American Sci-fi series that was on ABC for two seasons and loved by many.Throughout the show certain characters that come suspicious of these visitors who "come in peace" to help humans with medial and technological breakthroughs. Anna leads the investigation to find out their true intentions.

In the series finale, the 5th Column is crushed in a failed coup against Anna. A new human opposition force has entered the picture called Aries Project. All humans above ground are blissed and fall under Anna's spell just as the V Armada approaches. An evil twin Lisa has been created who seduces Tyler becomes impregnated by him and then murders him. Lisa the Visitor Princess is imprisoned after an attack on her Mother's life and Anna kills her mother Diana.

If you were to write the next episode, where would you take the story? Would the humans triumph and crush the Vs, would the humans and Vs learn to live peacefully together, or is it doomsday for humanity?

I can't say that I have ever really done anything that crazy when it comes to getting a gift for someone, nor do I know anyone who has. I can say that after having some birthday parties for my boys, I have looked back and thought I could have got by with not doing as much.

On Two and a Half Men Alan is Jake's father, but Jake often looks up to his uncle Charlie the most. Did you have someone who you looked up to as a child?

For me it was my grandmother, she was and is someone that I hold near and dear to my heart. My grandmother raised 10 children, my father being the baby, and thus I was the baby grandchild. I can say my grandmother was an older grandmother compared to most, as she was 71 when I was born. However, I became very close to her and she was my 2nd mother. I learned so much from her like cooking, but I also learned so much about her childhood. Today when I am cooking I often think of her and wished my boys could have known her. I too think about her when I am stringing beans, as I sat a many summers at her kitchen table helping her string beans.

Some of my favorite episodes of Two and Half Men is when Rose is part of the show. It's crazy what lengths she is willing to go to win Charlie over. One of those episodes is when Charlie realizes he has feelings for Rose, his stalker, he sets out to let her know and ends up catching a glimpse of her getting married. It turns out, Rose staged the marriage in from of an audience of mannequins to make Charlie jealous. It just shows us how Love can drive us to do some crazy things. Have you ever done anything crazy to get someone's attention?

I personally can't say that I have, but I did work with a girl one time that did some crazy things to win over her now husband. We use to laugh at the things she would tell us she done to get his attention, including stalking him like Rose does Charlie. I for sure thought that she would never win him over, but that wasn't the case and now they have a beautiful family together.

What can I say, I have really enjoyed watching Two and Half Men. My husband and I have enjoyed it for a several seasons now, it's a great way to relax and sit back and laugh.

In episode 11, Alan wants to get Lindsey a nice birthday present but is out of money. As a result, he comes up with different schemes to get the funds one of which involved him giving massages in the mall.

I don't know about you, but I can't say that I have given massages in the mall. I have had a funny job in the past though, well at the time I didn't think it was funny. Looking back it was, I worked for the local outlet mall that had a Hanes Bali store. As most of you know we sold underwear, bras, hosiery and some clothing. Needless to say I had to have a tape measure around my neck and measure ladies for their correct size bra. I almost hated to work at this job, esp. on the weekend when I knew we would be busy. I am not sure if you have ever been measured, but at the age of 17 it was a little much for me with some older ladies. ;o)

Clifford...

Almost a month ago our little man had to have surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids. I was worried about him, mostly worried about after the surgery how bad his pain would be. I knew he was in good hands before he went back for the surgery, the two nurses both came in a joked with him. They kept him upbeat and happy, and then the doctor prayed over him before they took him back. He was so relaxed and happy when they took him back that he did not cry at all. I knew God was in control and would see him through it.

After surgery I went back to the recovery area and what did I find? Clifford the Big Red Doctor! The nurse had too much time on his hands, and decided he would dress up Clifford. It was great because till this day, Chan still loves how Clifford is dressed and will not offer to remove the doctor attire.

He did so well after surgery that you would have never known anything had happened. The doctor told us we would have to stay overnight, but that wasn't the case. He did so well he let us go home that afternoon, and Chan actually got upset with the fact we would not let him eat "real" food. I am so happy things went well for him. Most of all I am glad that we no longer have a snoring little boy, so he is able to sleep better and breathe through his nose like he should.

This picture was taken just a few hours after surgery, as you can see him and dad enjoyed some drawing time. ;o)

Supernatural: The Anime Series DVD/ Blu-Ray

"In order for the creators of the show to develop a new animated world, some characters had to go through a makeover to fit the feel of the new environments."

If I could makeover myself in order to explore new situations, I believe I would go back in time. In time to the early 1900's, I would want to go back to when my grandmother grew up and even my father in the early 1940's. Just so I could experience those times, growing up on a farm. Don't get me wrong, I grew up on a farm, but it still wasn't the same as when they grew up. My father worked outside the home to take care of us, the difference is that my grandfather did not.

Everything my grandmother and grandfather did was farm, they raised 10 children on this farm. The kids walked over a mile to school, and when they where not in school they where home farming. My father the baby of the 10 did not even see a colored t.v. until he was almost 10 years old. Even when he met my mother they still used an out house. Today I can hear my old son say "Mom what's an out house." I feel that I lived a simple life growing up, and still do. However I know back then they faced more challenges than we do today, even though we think times are hard now, but it was the real simple life.

DaGeDar Review

What? How do you even pronounce that? DaGeDar (DAH-geh-DAAR). That was the comment from my oldest son when the package arrived in the mail.

Both boys waited as I opened the box to see what was inside. The boys wanted to dig right in and play.

Lets just say they were a hit! The kids played with them and I know this will be at the top of all the boys Christmas list this year. One of the things I found that was great as a mom, was that non of the DaGeDar items required batteries. When I am looking for a toy now days, I watch for non battery operated items most of the time. Also, the balls are great for trading, they can meet up with friends and trade them like cards.

It was great to see all the boys taking turns to see who could get their ball to land just right in the bowl.

Or until something happens that makes them wake up and see things in a new light.

If my life was developed into a story, I would want it to be told on film. Yes, animation is very cool, as it has no boundaries. In an animation there is always room to come up with new ideas and even new characters. With my life it’s real and that is how I would want it shown on film.

I think for the most of us we can say our family is the most important thing in our lives. At least for me it is, I can honestly say I would do anything for my family. My brother and I are six years apart and we grew up not so close. However now that we are older, we have become more close and willing to help out each other much as we can. He knows I am always here for him through thick and thin, including demons. Our demons are the ones the devil always sends, but I am always there to pray with him. We both know with God's help we will get through hard times.

You can say that hubs and I are some proud parents. Our son Dev was the recipient of the Dream Award from our local community college. This award is given to students who have demonstrated academic achievement and civic involvement, and who have the potential to succeed. The award is given in 6th grade as they have made it halfway and only have 6 more years to go.

Ugh.... It's depressing to think he only has 6 more years to go. I mean really was it not just yesterday when I took him in for his first day of kindergarten? Oh sniff sniff.... my first born is growing up one me.

Childrens Hospital Season 1 & 2 on DVD

With busy as my life has become I find it very hard to watch TV any more. I mean just look below it is even hard for me to get a blog post up. ;o)

However I have learned what a DVR is when it comes to the TV and it has become my new best friend. I love all kinds of shows, but my favorite is comedy and sarcasm. Something to make me laugh, I guess you can say that I am the sarcasm queen in our family. I learned from the best, my father, I wouldn’t know how to get through my day without saying one smart thing.

One new show that I have found and love is Childrens Hospital, and no I am not talking about the soap. Childrens Hospital is clever humor and hilarious medical TV show such as Grey’s Anatomy and House. House is still at the top of my list, but Childrens Hospital is for sure right there in line with top 5 shows.

Childrens Hospital is based on the Webby Award–winning digital series that debuted on TheWB.com in 2008 and quickly became a Web hit with its twisted take on network medical drama. The show explores the emotional struggles and sexual politics of a group of doctors charged with healthy libidos. Their dedication to their personal lives is relentless, interrupted only by the occasional need to treat sick children.

Starring an ensemble cast including Rob Corddry, Lake Bell, Megan Mullaly and Harry Winkler, the Childrens Hospital medical staff aim to heal their patients through irreverent humor and unconventional methods.

Now Season 1 & 2 can now be found on DVD, while the show is preparing to return for its third season. I can’t say that I have ever had an off the wall experience patient wise in the hospital, but I was a CNA at one time and worked in the hospital. I can say that I have had some experiences that will never leave my mind. For instance while doing my clinical; I was helping give an older male patient a bath. Next thing I know he has my shirt trying to pull it down to see God knows what. Ummm such a weird situation to put me and my class mates in. Needless to say I learned to watch how I was leaning over my patients.

It's amazing, well it is to me. How our mind works, for me it's not until I see pictures of myself that I really see what others see.

Since the first of the year I have my mind set on reaching my goal weight. I am still 10lbs away from my goal, but I can't believe after looking at these pictures how far I have come.

I can say I am the smallest I have ever been in my adult life, for me this is hard work considering I have PCOS. I have learned to love working out and eating right, and I have lost a total of 55lbs doing so. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy my favorite foods, but I know when to stop.

The thing about this is even though I am wearing a size 6-8, I still feel that I am big and I can not get that out of my mind. Even when I look in the mirror I don't see the person in the bottom picture, I see my old big self.

Have any of you gone through this? How do you over come it?

Around the house....

I have come to wonder about the people who lived there before us. Small things have come to my attention about their taste for things. I know after living in this house for three years it's time to do some updates. The thing that gets me is why has it taken three years for this to hit me?

Take for instants the chandelier in our dining area, UGLY! Now you go and ask my mom she would tell you a different story. I am for sure going to change it out very soon, but I can't decide on what I want to put in its place. I have really thought about doing a couple wall sconces; however my husband is not excited about that idea. I can hear most women now, it's your kitchen or dining room why does it matter what your husband likes. It just does to me, and I want us to agree on what we are going to replace it with.

In the past week my husband changed out all our doorknobs, so I think we will have to get moving on this idea of getting down the dreaded chandelier. Guess you can say we are making small updated changes around our house.

Or how about hearing a song that has lyrics that just rip your heart out and make you cry. I think most of us have a songs that do this to us and it's great that we can say that we can listen to a song and connect to it in some way.

Progresso Soup

I love Progresso Soup, it's one of the easiest go to comfort food that I can have for lunch. One of the greatest things I love about Progresso Soup is that it's Weight Watchers friendly, as most of there light soups are just 1 point per serving and they taste so good.

It wasn't until recently that I was introduced to a new soup with Progresso and boy do I love it now too. I guess I can say that once I find something I like, I don't adventure out to much from my food.

My favorite outside of the Light soups is now the Chicken Tortilla.

I love Mexican food and boy does this soup hit the spot.

"Pretty Little Liars" Soundtrack

Do you watch Pretty Little Liars on ABC? If not, it is for sure the time to start watching. The shows soundtrack just came out and I can say that I am in love.

The thing that I love about this soundtrack vs. many other soundtracks is that it goes with the show. So many of these songs were written just for "Pretty Little Liars".

I love different music, but my husband is for sure a country music lover. When we are together it's country that I listen to, so I was excited to listen to something new while I am by myself. ;o) This cd is dark, romantic, and anything in between. The music to me has more of an independent feel to it.

A couple of the songs that I really enjoy are "All Those Pretty Lights" and "Your Love". Something about these songs grab me and pull me in, as I really think each person could find some form of meaning just for them from these songs.

Happy Valentine's Day to the greatest husband ever! Not a day goes by that I am not thankful that God put you in my life almost 14 years ago. It's amazing to think it's been almost 14 years, as it seems just like it was yesterday. Thank you for all you do for me and the boys, as I could not do it without you. You truly are my best friend and soulmate, you complete me totally and I would not have it any other way.

V Season Two

Did you have a chance to watch season two of the V that started this past week on ABC? I was worried how the show would start this season and even connect to last season. I have seen some shows that have made me not want to keep watching them because I felt it didn’t pick up where it should have.

That wasn’t the case this second season of the V. If you missed it, you can stop by ABC and check it out, you won’t be sorry. It was good to see that Erika’s plan to befriend the V’s at the end of last season is starting to pan out in hopes to take them down from the inside.

Time will tell as to what happens, all I can say is check out the next episode on January 11th 9/8c on ABC.

Need an Update

Do you ever go through a stage where you want to update your home? Make it more modern and just change it up some? Our home is only four years old and I want to paint and just update our home. Not sure why this bug has hit me, but I can tell you it will be spring before I get to do any painting due to the cold weather. Maybe that is the real reason as why I am wanting to change things up in the house, because it's winter and spending more time indoors.

I have been making a list of what I would like to do and hope that in the spring we can start working on that list. You know I have found the perfect site to get some of the things I am wanting such as a rug to go in the living room. CSN Stores has a great selection of Modern Rugs to choose from, it will for sure be a hard choice. One good thing about wanting to make changes is that it doesn't take much to just change up a room, just adding a new rug and changing the paint goes a long way. I can't believe it's already 2011. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and has had a great start to the New Year. I feel like this past year went by in a blink of an eye. The older I get the faster time goes, and of course I was warned of this when I was younger.

I think back from time to time when was younger when I would complain how I wished I was older, so I could have more freedom. I can hear my mother now "Don't wish your life away; you will be there before you know it. Then it will go by in a blink of an eye, the older you get the faster it will go by." Oh how true this is and I thought my Mom didn't know what she was talking about. ;o)

It's amazing how when you are younger you think time is going by so slow and you can't wait to grow up, then as an adult you wish you could go back and be a child. All I can say is enjoy your time with your children they grow up way to fast, just like my Mom told me.

V: Season One on DVD

Do you watch the V on ABC? I can't believe a new season is starting already, Tuesday, January 4th.

This past season was a great one, that makes you wonder what is out there. How do you think you would respond if visitors would land in your town? Not that I think it would happen, that's for sure. I would be a little worried and would be scared of what else is to come, not sure how I would react until it happened, but like I said I don't see it happening any time soon. ;o)

The show is a great show, and if you haven't seen it you should check it out. You can even watch recaps online here. If you already love the show the first season is already out on DVD and would make an excellent Christmas present! It would be a great way to recap over the show before the new season starts.

Forgiveness

Have you ever had something happen in your life so major that you just couldn't get past it no matter what? I have had a burden on me for going on three years.

Until last night I have been praying and struggling so hard with what happened and wanting this burden off my shoulders, but no matter what I could not let it go. Until last night God has kept me struggling with it, not sure why but I know there was a reason, as there is always a reason with all that God does in our lives.

I will not go into detail, but I know that I am free of the burden and God opened my eyes and wants me to be a better person. I feel free of what happened a few years back and so I can move on with my life and with the rest of the family this happened with. I just felt like I was never going to be free of this, and I just could not understand why God would let me stay so miserable with this. I may never know, however I do know I am free now with his help and I can move on with my life.

If you have something that is a burden and you need understanding, give it to God. In time he will open your eyes and help you to understand and to forgive if that is what needs to happen. It may not happen overnight or when you want it to, but in his time he will help you with it.

DollyWood

How many of you have heard of DollyWood located in Pigeon Forge, TN? Where we live it is very common to hear about Pigeon Forge and DollyWood. I was just wondering how many other people have hear of Dolly Parton's DollyWood?

We live about 2.5 hours from there and we love it. I grew up going there each summer as we have family that lives there and worked at DollyWood and would always get us in.

Now that I have my own kids it's important for us to have fun and enjoy time at a theme park and we find that DollyWood is our choice. The park caters to families and the staff will help you any way they can, and they keep the park very clean and because of these reason's we choose to go back year after year and by season passes.

We went last weekend to visit for their Christmas lights and enjoy the show. Here are just a few pictures that I took while we were there.

If you are ever in the area of Pigeon Forge, TN stop in and see DollyWood or even Splash Coutry the water park there. I think you will be suprised how well Dolly makes sure everything is taken care of.

What you might ask, CHRISTMAS! Are you ready? I have been looking online and trying my best to come up with great and different ideas for the boys. It seems like all that kids want now days is what their friends are getting. When I was little I can remember asking for a type writer and weird things, not what my friends were getting. However, the difference now days is that everything is some how connected to something electronic. While looking online at CSNstores.com I came across some kids backpacks and they are so cute! Christmas Cards

It is hard to believe that it is time for Christmas. It’s my favorite time of the year though, decorating the tree, house, and even my office at work. One thing that came to mind the other day is I still haven’t done my Christmas cards and it’s that time of year again! I told myself I would have them done by now and mailed, however that is not the case. I usually am on the ball and have them printed by the first of December, however with me working full time, going to school 3/4 time, and having a family, I am just behind.

When it comes to spending money I know that I want to get a good quality, as a lot of family and friends hold on to the pictures that I send out on our Christmas cards. Thinking back....

Do you ever sit and think about when you were little? This afternoon, I was thinking back to when I was younger and how I use to day dream about how my life would unfold. All I could think about was how fast I wanted to grow up, and now that I am here there are days I wished I could go back being a kid. Do you ever have those days? I can remember my parents and other adults saying “Don’t wish that, it will be here before you know it.” Yeah right, I use to say to myself. Heck, I am an adult now and I am the one telling my son to stop saying the same thing. As we get older and life unfolds, I guess it is just a never ending circle of life. I now thinking about my older son’s future, and I have it all planned in my head. I can see him now, going off to college, getting a job, getting married, and having kids. Then again I wonder if it will happen like that, the way I have it all planned out. I know for me personally it did not happen the way I planned, nor the way my parents might have thought my life would turn out. I can say one thing though and that is that I am so thankful for the life God has granted me with, and I would not have it any other way.

10 Great Tips for First Time Moms

Our youngest son is two years old now, but it seems just like yesterday when we brought him home. At that time it had been a while since we had a baby in the house, as our older son was fixing to turn ten. It’s amazing how you forget so many little details, and it seems like it only takes a short time too. I know just in the past two years I am already forgetting a few things with our youngest. That’s why I have came up with some great tips for you first time moms to have for when you bring your little one home.

If you want to come home to an empty house without a lot of family there, tell them. I know I wanted help, but not the whole family there when I got home. Too this will help with the germ issue that you may be afraid of.
Have hand sanitizer ready for those who want to touch or hold the baby. This is the easiest way to kill the germs no matter where you are at.
When family and friend offer help, take it! I am not talking about the ones that just want to come over and hold the baby. (I know how some family members are.) I am talking about the ones who offer to cook, or offer to come do laundry, and then the ones who want to help with the baby so you can get rest.
Gas drops are a must, and please don’t be scared of them! While we were still in the hospital we had gas issues with little man and the nurse gave him gas medicine even then. It will become your best friend. I even used store brand gas drops and they did the trick just as good as the name brand.
Be realistic with yourself, you are going to come home tired and your significant other is too. It might be that you have to co-sleep with your little one to get some rest. I will be the first to tell you, you are not going to spoil your little one when they are that young.
If you plan to breastfeed, relax and enjoy it. I know for the first few weeks I was like all he wants to do is eat. I would feel like I just fed him and it was time to do it again. You will feel like they are attached to you for several weeks when you first bring them home, which can be very stressful especially if you are home by yourself. Just remember it is so worth it though!
Drink plenty of water, juice and things to keep you hydrated especially if you are breastfeeding. This will help your milk supply to stay up and hopefully bring your milk supply in faster.
Make sure you take your “me time” as you will need it. This will help you to be a better mom to your little one. Take a long shower or bath, go to the bedroom read a book, just relax without your little one around.
Make sure you are prepared to take care of yourself, stock up on those pads, etc that you might need when you get home. This is one thing I think a lot of us just totally forget about because we are so wrapped up in bring our little one home.
Don’t be afraid to see a doctor if you are depressed, it happens more than you will ever know. With my first son I did get depressed bad and had to have medicine to help me. With my second son I did not get depressed. Everyone is different, but don’t think you are crazy or the only one out there that is depressed, just ask for help.
