Thanksgiving Trip

I know I am behind in getting this posted, but I wanted to share our trip to VA over Thanksgiving. My parents and my family, had decided even though it was Thanksgiving we wanted to get away for a long weekend. It was hunting season and we knew the boys would want to hunt. My dad has a good friend who owns a cabin in Tazwell, VA and said we could go up any time and stay and they could hunt on his 40 acres. On Thanksgiving morning we set out to go to Tazwell, VA. It is about a two hour drive from our home and then a 45 min drive up this mountain that the cabin is on. There is no electricity, this house is all done with solar energy and has a gas generator for back up. The fire place is the source of heat, with a gas log stove in the basement. It was amazing to see the solar energy at work. I loved it!
The boys hunted, however did not kill anything. We enjoyed our time there, and look forward to go back in 2009.
In this picture you can see the solar panels on the roof. Once the energy goes into the panels and then it is stored. Below you can see the picture of how it is stored.

This trip was worth it just to see how this worked, and to see this view. It's amazing to see what a view God has created.

Weigh in #4

Last nights weigh in was wonderful! I lost 2.4lbs, so a total weight loss of 6.2lbs. I received my 5lbs star this week. I am now down to 196. My goal is to be down 10 lbs by Christmas. Only 3.8lbs to go, I know I can do it. Short term goals is really what I need to stick to.

My best bud Jen made her short term goal of being below 200lbs, she did it. I am so proud of you!

This weight will come off us both, in time. Thanks Jen for going with me, it does make a difference.

Weigh in #3

I am on my 4th weigh in tonight, we had weigh in #3 last week. I gained... 2oz... I mean come on! Total weight loss of 3.8lbs.

I am excited about tonight, I am sure I have lost. Time will tell... be back later to let you know. ;)

(We would be on weigh in week #5, except that they did not have a meeting week before last due to Thanksgiving.)

Getting caught up

It's been a while since I wrote. I have been so busy lately starting Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving was spent with my husband, kids and my parents. We made a wonderful trip to Virginia. A hunting trip for the boys you can say. I will post more on that later. We staid in a cabin that is total dependent on solar electricity with a back up generator.
I have been under the weather, I am feeling much better though. I hope to get caught up on all I have to say. :)

Love these boys....

On Tuesday of last week, I was home enjoying some time with the boys. We had our 2nd snow event and Devon was out of school and I decided I was going to stay home too.
Our new little one Chandler looks just like our older son Devon. I see pictures of Devon at this age and it's is amazing how much they look a like and everyone says to Devon he is your little twin.The only thing that Brad and I can tell that is really different about them is that Chandler's hair is going to be darker. Devon's hair was blond as it could be when he was small.
Any who... Devon and Chandler were dressed a like on Tuesday when we were home. Devon says "Mom you need to take a picture of us boys, we really are twins today.

I love how Devon is such a great big brother to Chandler. I know they have many years between them, but I know Devon would not trade him for nothing now.

Weigh in #2

Last night was weigh in number two. Oh how excited I am to say that I lost .... 2.8lbs
Total lost to date is 4lbs.

Weight Watchers really does work!

New Find...

I was at the store Sunday doing my weekly shopping and I get to the ice cream. I think to myself, here I am doing weight watchers pass on by.
Then I think.... buy you some weight watchers ice cream. I stand there looking at them and think why not try something new. There was Skinny Cow ice cream, now I have heard many people say oh it's so good. The ice cream was only 2 points, same as weight watcher brand so I put in the buggy. It was a little pricey, but so is weight watcher ice cream. I have had the weight watchers ice cream and I will say it's good, especially the cookies and cream bar. However, I think that I have found my favorite.



It was wonderful, tell you the truth I could have had another one. Let's just say I didn't though. I was a good girl.
