Thankful Thursday!
It's time to tell you all how thankful I am for a chance to go back to school. I always wanted to go to college, but after having my son at 17, I never got the chance. I graduated high school in May, had him in July and started the wonderful world of being a mother. After he was about 8 months old I did go back to school to get my CNA license, but I don't really consider that college. Along the way I landed a wonderful job at Appalachian State University, where I have now worked almost 8 years. Even though I feel that my job is secure I still feel that I am missing out that I didn't get to go to college and it's something that I always wanted to do. I started this semester at my local community college and I am loving it and so glad that I am doing this for myself and my future! I know it will take me a while to get my degree, however I know that I will do it! I can't wait for that day to come!

It's a good thing you were still able to fulfill your dream of going to college. Having a kid so young shouldn't stop you.
That is so great! I am very happy for you and there is nothing like being in class and learning to make you feel good about yourself.
